In 2019, the Center for Ideas & Society celebrated 30 years of collaborative research on the UCR campus. Our gala celebration in fall 2019 included a short panel discussion moderated by Professor Rickerby Hinds with three past associate directors of the Center: Steve Axelrod, Joe Childers, and Sharon Salinger.

Also part of the year-long celebration were two featured series: ‘From the Archives,’ a set of monthly posts that highlighted a program or project from our history, and ‘In Focus,’ brief interviews with affiliated researchers. In addition, we announced a new, multi-year faculty fellowship program sponsored by a $1,000,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
