UCR Nomination Process
Scholars from NHC Institutional Sponsor universities are exclusively eligible to participate in a 10-day in-residence writing program in July, intended to provide dedicated writing time, along with expert guidance in writing and publishing, to significantly advance scholarly projects. The program fosters a supportive cohort community to encourage intellectual exchange among participants.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Scholars are nominated and sponsored by their home institutions
- Must be humanities scholars or scholars working on a humanities project
- Must have completed a PhD or the equivalent for fields in which a terminal Master’s degree is standard
- UCR Criteria: Nominations accepted from Assistant and Associate ranks for the 2026 call
CHASS Nominations Process for 2026 Program
CHASS will nominate one (1) humanities faculty to apply for the 2026 program. If selected to attend, CHASS will cover program fees and roundtrip airfare.
Nominees must agree to:
- complete an NHC application by the program deadline in February 2026
- attend the full program, July 2–10, 2026, in North Carolina
