Global 19th Century 2020-21 Workshops

Call for Graduate Fellows

The Global 19th Century Working Group at the Center for Ideas and Society invites applications for Graduate Student Fellows in 2020-21. The Fellowship consists of participation in Zoom workshop events throughout the year, in which the fellows, and local and invited faculty, will share works-in-progress on topics related to the global 19th century. Graduate fellows will share their work once during the year, will read shared works in advance of group meetings and participate fully in the discussions.

For their participation, fellows receive a small stipend. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program at UCR and should determine that receipt of the stipend will not negatively impact their current funding. Please send a c.v. and a brief (200 word) abstract describing the global 19th century research topic with confirmation that you can circulate a work-in-progress by September 15, 2020.

Applications should be sent by Wednesday, July 15, 2020 to Katharine Henshaw (katharine.henshaw@ucr.edu).
