Award Amount
Up to $2500, depending on project format

Award Description
Project Development Awards help CHASS faculty members accelerate a project toward completion and submission/production by creating opportunities to receive input and feedback on works-in-progress.
Examples of eligible projects include:
- Book manuscript
- Film or stage play scripts
- Substantial creative projects
- Research-based projects with community impacts
Applicants must clearly identify how the proposal supports the planned completion or production of the next stage of their project. Successful proposals will clearly define the next stage and the necessity of the proposed feedback for the transformation or development of the current project. Proposal goals might include submission of manuscripts to presses or festivals, theatre productions and live readings, gallery shows, or other milestones. Special consideration will be given to projects that have potential to impact tenure and/or promotion.
Proposal budgets may include:
- Meetings with scholars or subject matter experts
- Meetings with community partners
- Workshops or experimental productions
- Other collaborative formats for soliciting feedback on a project
Three projects will be awarded for 2027, to be hosted in Winter, Spring or Fall quarter.
Complete applications include:
- Project abstract (150 words)
- Summary of the project, including progress to date and a timeline for the completion of the next steps
- Bibliography (optional)
