The British Transnational Studies Group and the Global Nineteenth Century Group welcome Lauren M.E. Goodlad, Professor of English at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, to CIS on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 12 p.m., for a works-in-progress discussion. Goodlad is the author of The Victorian Geopolitical Aesthetic: Realism, Sovereignty, and the Transnational Experience (Oxford, 2015) and Victorian Literature and the Victorian State (Johns Hopkins, 2003); she has also co-edited Mad Men, Mad World: Sex, Politics, Style, and the 1960s (Duke, 2013) and Goth: Undead Subculture (Duke, 2007).
