Morana Alač is author of Handling Digital Brains: A Laboratory Study of Multimodal Semiotic Interaction in the Age of Computers, which traces the ways in which fMRI researchers integrate their bodies in the process of producing knowledge from brain scans. Her ethnographic research uses video to engage with ethnomethodology, interactions with technology, gesture, multimodality, and the senses among topics like social robots and scientific visualization.
The STS Methods series tracks methods by which we surface and elucidate sociotechnical objects, systems, networks, infrastructures, and things.
