Two disciplinary perspectives- one topic!
Join Rebekah Richert (Psychology) and Peter Graham (Philosophy) in a conversation about the origins and nature of belief in a higher power.
Rebekah’s view: How does the concept or idea of God go from being an external, cultural & religious belief to being internalized as a concept in a child’s mind? Some cognitive scientists argue that belief in God is easily transmitted across generations because of the nature of cognitive & cultural evolution.
Peter’s view: When philosophers talk about God, what are they talking about? And how do we know that God exists, or doesn’t exist? People say you can’t prove or disprove God’s existence. Philosophers often disagree.
